VISION
When I arrived at Salfords Primary School my vision was to take the school through an exciting journey into the 21st Century. In particular I wanted learning and thinking skills to move forward into a new dimension, where risk taking and innovation opened the box and allowed colleagues, children and all our stakeholders to think outside of this box.

We began by looking at research which related to learning and how children learn best such as learning styles, emotional intelligence, mind mapping, philosophy for children and issues around accelerated learning.
My deputy Karen Thompson attended a training day on Edward de Bono’s Thinking Hats and this made an enormous impression on her and our school.

ACCREDITATION
Salfords attained ‘accredited thinking schools status’ in the techniques of de Bono.
I am an accredited de Bono Education Consultant, certified to instruct other educational professionals in the Dr Edward de Bono’s Six thinking Hats, Cort 1 and Cort 4 techniques.

I have trained several schools since then and continue to do so.
I have spoken at several conferences attended by Edward de Bono on the impact that the hats have had in my school.
