I currently work as Business Manager to the ‘Local Safeguarding Children Board’ for Reading Borough Council Children’s Services and have been an accredited De Bono Trainer since October 2006.
I have a Post Graduate Certificate and Post Graduate Diploma in Managing Health and Social Care and deliver Training in Universal Safeguarding & Child Protection, Participation Skills with children and young people and Performance Management with Blue Sky Skills.
I have 6 years experience in a Local Authority Children’s Services Senior Management Team, working across Education, Children’s Social Care and Pupil Support developing Children’s Services by strategic management of the Every Child Matters Agendas and line management of the young people’s drugs & alcohol Team.
I am currently a Board Member of Berkshire Sport and have written two training manuals on delivering the PE Curriculum to KS3 & KS4 using the Six Thinking Hats.
I was a professional musician (Drummer) for 8 years and have vast experience in performance skills as the Director of a Youth Marching Band for 13 years.
I have 4 children, 2 boys in Primary School, a daughter at Essex University and a son who works as a Retail Manager in Oxford.
I enjoy the odd game of tennis or badminton and have an orange belt in Shotokan Karate.
